L’Obit Ouest is nestled within the rolling countryside of the Aude region, with far reaching views in all directions. From the West facing terrace, guests can enjoy views of the Pyrenees, as well as stunning sunsets. There is a wealth of nature within the surroundings, including birds of prey that you can spot most days. There are two tracks that provide easy short walks directly from the house so you can enjoy even more views of the Pyrenees.
Despite it’s secluded countryside location, L’Obit Ouest is easily accessible to amenities, restaurants and shops.
The thriving village of Fanjeaux is a six minute drive, and offers great amenities including a boulangerie, grocery shop with butcher, cafe/bar, restaurant, and pharmacy.
The medieval town of Mirepoix centres around a beautiful plaza, with many restaurants, cafes, shops, and boulangeries available to enjoy.
Montreal is a small town within a 15 minute drive, with a new supermarket, and our favourite butcher Boucherie Copovi.
Carcassonne, Limoux, Castelnaudry and the Canal du Midi are all within thirty minutes drive, offering a plathora of restaurants, cafes and shops.
Close to the L’Hers River for paddling and kayaking, and within 30 minute drive of many vineyards in the Malpère wine region.
Skiing in the Pyrenees is an hour and a half drive to family friendly ski resorts, and there are great cycling routes on the doorstep.
Carcassonne airport is less than 30 minutes drive, with Toulouse Blagnac airport only a 60 minute drive.
